Mark Q. Fuentes joined Ashford Securities in January 2020 as Senior Vice President – Head of Operations. Mark’s primary focus at Ashford Securities is to build-out the operational infrastructure of the broker dealer and to meet the demands of the marketplace as Ashford Securities launches new product and raises capital in the IBD and RIA channels.

Prior to joining Ashford Securities, Mr. Fuentes was Director of Intermediary and Platform Operations at FS Investments, where he oversaw all clearing firm and intermediary relationships for the various FS product structures in the marketplace.

These product structures include BDCs, REITs, Mutual Funds, and Interval Funds. Prior to joining FS Investments, Mark held Vice President and Director roles in RIA/Institutional Sales and Fund Operations at Behringer Harvard.

Mr. Fuentes has over 18 years of industry experience, specializing in alternative investment products, including fund operations, vendor management, intermediary and clearing firm operations, relationship management, and technology operations. He has extensive experience building relationships within the intermediary and clearing firm community, which has become a critical component to the sales process for both the IBD and RIA channel.

Mr. Fuentes earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. He has a wonderful wife, two boys and a dog. The family has been an amazing example of mental fortitude and toughness through this last year while managing day-to-day life amidst a world-wide pandemic.
